“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I truly treasure the Peabody because of the way in which it is determined, said Array founder Ava DuVernay on Tuesday as she and the decade-old collective were unveiled as this year’s recipient of the Peabody’s Institutional Award.
At Ava DuVernay’s Array film collective, Tuck is making it easy for showbiz types to hire a more inclusive workforce. Dee Tuck has heard all the excuses. “I want to hire more women, but I just don’t know where they are.”

Personnel database will give entertainment industry opportunity to show its actions can match its words, producer says.
“I have to create and be a part of the change that I want to see, and so, after I go through the period of being on every panel and being in every article about diversity, I stopped doing that a couple years ago, and I said, no more panels,” Ava DuVernay says of the impetus to create Array Crew, which launches online Thursday.
