Film North – A DISCUSSION OF DOCUMENTARY ETHICS

From Film North – In-person. 1 session: Saturday, March 11, 10am-1pm CST

Documentary ethics is an essential concern for any documentarian who wants to be taken seriously. With roots in ethnography, journalism and fiction film, the way is not always clear and practitioners often walk a careful line. This workshop will require screening of at least two documentaries prior to our meeting (the instructor will provide titles and viewing options in advance via email). Through those films, and examples from other documentaries, we’ll explore the questions that face all documentarians.
